The Adirondack History Museum will continue its summer lecture series on Thursday, July 13 with “An Adirondack Portfolio – Hiking Photographs of Francis Bayle, 1902-1935,” presented by Bob Bayle, author and son of Francis Bayle. Between the years 1910 and about 1970, Francis took hundreds of pictures of the Adirondack region, which provide a unique representation of what the area looked like in the early part of the 1900s. He was an active member of the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Glens Falls Camera Club, and excerpts of his writings in the Adirondack Mountain Club magazine are included in the book. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signature.
Admission is free for museum members, and $8 for nonmembers. A reception with light refreshments will be held at 6 p.m., with the lecture starting at 7 p.m. For more information, contact (518) 873-6466 or echs@adkhistorymuseum.org.
