About My Lai Memorial Exhibit
The My Lai Memorial Exhibit builds a commitment to nonviolence and social justice by moving participants through an interactive exhibit. It engages participants in experiencing the impact of the American War on the people of Viet Nam. It features interactive sculptural collages that Mac MacDevitt has developed to provide a medium for healing and dialogue. The exhibit offers options to participants to support remediation efforts in Viet Nam and worthy peace and social justice initiatives.
The My Lai Memorial Exhibit is sponsored by the Chicago Chapter of Veterans for Peace (VFP). VFP Chapters want to host the traveling exhibit. At the Veterans for Peace National Convention hosted by our Chicago VFP Chapter, 50 out of the 80 VFP members who filled out contact cards at our exhibit display said they were interested in bringing the Memorial Exhibit to their chapter area.
The Hugh Thompson VFP Chapter is planning to host the Memorial Exhibit in San Diego on March 16, 2018, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the My Lai Massacre. This will be a key event on our first tour through the southwest and up the west coast in the winter and spring of 2018.
We are looking to raise $27,000 by November 30th. Learn more about the exhibit at mylaimemorial.org.
