At our Essex on Lake Champlain table on Downtown Essex Day 2013 we encouraged visitors to doodle Essex inspired creations. We asked, “What do you think of first regarding Essex, NY?” The doodle above is definitely one of the more unique submissions we’ve received, but one that is a recognizable experience for many!
Can you tell what the doodle is meant to be? If not, thankfully the artist titled the sketch on the bottom left! This doodle portrays movement—showing the drive down Lake Shore Road toward Essex! Trees neighbor that stretch of pavement for almost the entire distance from Willsboro to Essex, so it’s no surprise to see them here, and perhaps one of the fields along that road is beyond the trees in the doodle?
We can’t make out the signature on the doodle. To the artist: if you want to claim your doodle leave a comment, and we’ll update this post with your name!
What’s your favorite route to Essex? Try drawing a map! Or perhaps you have a favorite stretch of roadway that you’d like to draw? Send us your doodle(s), and we’ll share them on the blog!
