Happy new year! We are celebrating the start of 2015 with a couple of programs at the Belden Noble Memorial Library.
Cabin Fever College to Begin on January 13
Participants will gather on Tuesday evenings for six weeks to view and discuss a series of taped lectures by Harvard professor Michael Sandel. With his entertaining and accessible lecture style, Sandel encourages his students to think critically about the fundamental questions of justice, equality, democracy, and citizenship, and after viewing the lectures, participants will be invited to share their own perspective on these important topics.
Cabin Fever College will be held on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. from January 13 through February 17. No prior knowledge of ethics or philosophy is necessary to enjoy the lectures or to participate in the discussions. To register or to receive more information, please contact library board vice president Maureen DeLaughter at 935-3811 or delaughterk[@]gmail[dot]com.
Fiber Arts Group to Resume on January 15
The fiber arts group will resume meeting in the library on Thursday, January 15, at 1:00 p.m. Bring a project, especially if you need help with it. The group includes knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and other portable fiber arts. This first meeting of the year will also be a planning session for future meetings.
Hope to see you in the library soon!
