On Friday, February 10, the Whallonsburg Grange Hall will present a farewell concert by the Burlington-based quintet, PossumHaw. After twelve years together, this will be one of the final shows for the band, an audience favorite at venues throughout the region and at the Grange.
PossumHaw offers the drive of bluegrass with folk, jazz and blues influences, delivered by one of the finest singers and songwriters in the region. Colby Crehan is the lead vocalist for the very popular Bluegrass Gospel Project. Bandmates Ryan Crehan (banjo), Charley Eiseman (guitar), Stephen Waud (mandolin) and Mitch Barron (bass) are skilled and versatile musicians who contribute beautiful harmonies. The group’s “Road to Mora” was named Vermont Song of the Year, and Crehan named Vermont Vocalist of the Year (Tammie Awards, Times-Argus). PossumHaw is what the Northeast folk and bluegrass music scene is all about—excellent original acoustic live music delivered with skill, sincerity, and personality.
The music begins at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $10 at the door, with a special price of $5 for those under 18. All ages are welcome. For more information, visit www.thegrangehall.info.
