Every Monday we share an image on the Essex on Lake Champlain Facebook page and invite our viewers to play some Vintage Essex Trivia.
Do you recognize this site? It’s Split Rock with the Split Rock Lighthouse! If you were unsure the title in the upper left corner, “Split Rock Light” identifies it definitively. This is one of the many postcards featuring this local landmark that we’ve shared. Take a look in our “Split Rock Lighthouse Archives” to see others.
When do you think this postcard was created? Anything you’d like to point out?
Here is the back side of the postcard that is postmarked with the year 1919.
Along the left side is a line of credit for the publisher “W.H. Cruiskhank” of Essex, who has been credited with other vintage postcards we’ve shared in the past.
