I awoke to snow this frigid April 26 morning. Harrumph. What better antidote to a belated North Country snowfall than a super sunny midsummer 360° view of Main Street (at the junction with Beggs Point Street)? None better! Enjoy.
Enthusiastic (if slightly slushy) accolades to our ROOST heroes at the helm of AdirondacksUSA.com for producing yet another interactive panorama showcasing glorious Essex, New York!
Given this morning’s midwinter conditions, I am especially grateful for this far more seasonally appropriate warm-weather scene. Thanks, ROOST, for sharing our Main Street and Beggs Point Street intersection with the world. Please come back and shoot some more footage soon.

I spy all sorts of familiar sights including:
- Lake Champlain (a small sliver visible down Beggs Point St.),
- possibly Champy? (the Lake Champlain Monster),
- even a hazy slice of the Green Mountains,
- the Essex Inn,
- the Van Ornam Building (home of the Essex Post Office and CFES),
- Old Brick Store,
- a sneak peak of Cyrus Stafford House,
- Essex Town Hall (formerly Wright’s Inn),
- a leafy hint of the Essex Community Church steeple,
- Greystone‘s roof crest and chimneys,
- a hint of the Adirondack Art Association,
- Debbie Schrodt’s Pink Pig,
- the Essex Ice Cream Cafe,
- the Old Essex Firehouse (can you see the Essex sunburst motif?),
- the Neighborhood Nest, and
- Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness.
Can you identify all of these? What am I missing? Please share your additions in the comments below.
