I was sitting in my living room watching some inane action movie about galactic aliens when I looked out the window to see a bright orange glow rising from OUR own galaxy. I watched intently as the bold full moon slowly crept above the old Essex firehouse. Finding the charisma of the moon’s strong pull more entertaining than the movie, I made up my mind to brave the 5 degree-temperature and go outside to check it out.
Another World
[pullquote]I donned my winter wear… to catch a glimpse of this marvelous moon shining its golden glory across the frozen vastness.[/pullquote]Being in self-imposed winter exile, I donned my winter wear and endeavored to take the longest walk of the season (a matter of yards) down to the lake to catch a glimpse of this marvelous moon shining its golden glory across the frozen vastness. Tramping through the crusty snow, leaving 6″ deep footprints, I found my way down to the lake shore. It was like another world as I walked out onto the ice to follow the moonlit path for a short while until my face and fingers got so cold I couldn’t take it anymore.
