On Sunday, August 28, the Whallonsburg Grange Hall will host a community celebration to recognize the extraordinary work of the many local fire fighters and EMS responders and to thank them for their service. Fire department demonstrations, home-safety information, and outdoor games will go on throughout the day and a lunch of grilled Whallonsburgers, hot dogs, and salads will be served. All profits from the event will support the Whallonsburg, Essex, Westport, Wadhams, and Willsboro fire departments.
The event runs from 2pm to 5pm and tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for those under 12, including lunch. Free for fire department and EMS volunteers. Additional donations for the fire departments will be accepted throughout the day.
The Volunteer Fire Department Appreciation Day is generously sponsored by The Deer’s Head Inn, Reber Rock Farm, Village Meat Market, Chez Lin & Rays Restaurant, Hub on the Hill, and Galley Restaurant and Bar.
The Grange is located at 1610 NYS Route 22 in Whallonsburg, New York, 5 miles south of the Essex ferry dock. For more information, visit www.thegrangehall.info or call 518-963-4170.
