May 14, 2014, will mark the 200th Anniversary of The Battle of the Boquet, a battle that occurred at the mouth of the Boquet River between the invading British and the local New York Militia under the command of Lt. Col. Ransom Noble and his 37th Regiment, during the War of 1812. Thirty British troops lost their lives there that day, with only two injured in the 37th, none lost.
