Champlain Area Trails protected 128 acres in Beekmantown yesterday when Dick and Leanna DeNeale donated a conservation easement to preserve their large forested property. SUNY Plattsburgh researchers noted that maintaining the intact forests in this part of Clinton County is critical for conserving the area’s biological diversity. We plan to have a trail there by this time next year so you can walk or ski through the woods. Thank you, Dick and Leanna—what a wonderful gift.
