It is all about education and Champlain Area Trails is stepping up with some wonderful outdoor learning opportunities!
The first is “Patterns in Nature” on Saturday, March 21st and features lunch provided by DaCy Meadow Farm! This fabulous program will be led by Elizabeth Lee, an amazing naturalist, who will help you look for and recognize artistic patterns at all scales of life. Many times we just walk through the woods and see the forest and the trees but overlook nature’s sculptures, paintings, and creative works of fantastic imagination.
Join and enjoy this early spring hike as Elizabeth points out patterns in landscape features, seasonal life cycles, and growth patterns of plants and animals on the DaCy Meadow Farm Trail in Westport. And get this: You have a choice of going out in the morning or afternoon!
The morning session, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m is tailored for children and families. Lunch will be from 11:30 to 12:15. The afternoon session, tailored for adults, begins with lunch from 12:15 to 1:00 followed by Elizabeth Lee leading the hike until 3:30 p.m. For more information and to register, click HERE.
Grand Hike II
Plan now for May 9th and our second Grand Hamlet-to-Hamlet Hike! It is a week later than last year so there should be more wildflowers. Warmer? You never can tell. Fun? You bet! So, tell your friends, check out our website for more info and register HERE.
