The Essex-Charlotte ferry will begin operating on its early fall schedule September 5, 2017.
The ferry operating at this crossing will arrive hourly in the early morning and evening, and in between two ferries will be running and arrive at each crossing every half-hour.
Departs NY: 6:30 am-8:30 pm
Arrives every hour from 6:30 am to 10:30 am and from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Arrives on the half-hour between 10:30 am until 5:30 pm.
Departs VT: 6:00 am-8:00 pm
Arrives every hour from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Arrives on the half-hour between 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
This crossing will operate on this schedule through October 29, 2017.

Here are some reminders for commuters to remember about the Essex ferry crossing:

- This particular crossing takes about 25 minutes. So don’t forget to factor that into your travel time!
- Credit cards are currently not accepted at this crossing location.
- Pets are allowed but must be leashed.
