The Essex County Arts Council invites all County nonprofits to apply for its 2016 grant awards. “Projects must have an arts and/or culture theme and must be free and open to the public,” commented Board President Margaret Gibbs.
“The deadline is May 2, 2016, and we want to get the word out now so people can start to plan their projects.”
“The ECAC Cultural Assistance Program (CAP) grant was a great help to us this year, our 25th anniversary, during which we offered an unusually large number and variety of public education programs and events,” remarked Steven Engelhart, Executive Director of Adirondack Architectural heritage (AARCH). AARCH received general operating support in 2015.
“We loved being able to host a production of ‘The Belle of Amherst’ thanks to our 2015 ECAC CAP award,” reported Marie Anne Azar Ward, President of the Board of the Wells Memorial Library in Upper Jay, another grantee.
All Essex County nonprofit organizations offering arts and culture projects that serve the general public are welcome and encouraged to apply for the 2016 round of funding. The application deadline is Monday, May 2, 2016 (postmarked by or email received by). Community residents wishing to contribute may send donations to the Essex County Arts Council at PO Box 187, Westport, NY 12993.
