I’ve been too scrunched for time on Thursday’s to get many farm notes out this summer. But, we did want to let you all know that we have a week-long work party happening at the farm, starting right now. Construction of the new pole barn is the main project this week, with hopes of a standing structure by week’s end.
There’s a contingent of out-of-towners from as far away as Texas and Indiana here for the party, but, in order to meet our goal, we could use all of the help we can get from local folks as well!! There is work for all skill levels within the barn project and plenty of other farm projects for those who would rather have their hands in the dirt rather than the sawdust. We’re starting work around 6, with breaks for both a hearty breakfast and lunch.
Please let us know if you can make it so we can plan enough food for meal times. Even a little time adds up to a lot of help, so don’t hesitate to join in.
Hope to see you out at the farm,
full and by’ers
Update (8/19/15): Work on the new pole barn has been flying this week with lots of great help! We’re planning on raising the structure Thursday afternoon. There’s plenty of assembly still to be done today and thursday morning, join us for a few hours if you can steal the time. Come by Thursday afternoon to help raise the bents or just to watch the fun.
