Making a new trail is the most fun thing about trails. Of course hiking is fabulous too. The great thing about making trails is the sense of accomplishment you feel. Also, to know you built a trail that will will provide fun for all the people who hike there.
This Saturday, December 17 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, YOU can MAKE A TRAIL. And NAME IT TOO! Please join Bill Amadon to make a new trail, and as you clear the route, think of a good name for it. Meet at 9:00 am at the Woods & Swale Trail parking lot on Sherman Road in Westport (directions below). Bring loppers and/or a pruning saw. Dress warm. Thanks to Tom Duca for having the trail on his property and working with us to protect the land with a conservation easement.
Come out to help make the trail and give your ideas for a great name for it! Call (518-962-2287) or email to let us know if you plan to come!
(Directions: From the corner of Sherman and Lakeshore Roads in Westport, go north on Sherman Road about 3/4 mile to the Trailhead, which is on your right.)
Looking for a holiday gift idea?
Here’s a great idea. Give the gift of trails to someone. Just click here to make a donation in someone’s name. Complete the form and be sure to include that person’s name and address in the “additional comments” box at the bottom. We will send them a holiday card letting them know of your generous gift to honor them.
