The National Community Pharmacists Association is pleased to announce that Keeseville Pharmacy in Keeseville, N.Y. has earned a NICE Award for Best Customer Convenience Improvement. This is the third year of the NICE Awards competition, which was created to recognize pharmacies for their efforts to enhance their value, promote their services, and better serve their communities. The NICE Awards are sponsored by QS/1.
“Congratulations to Keeseville Pharmacy and its owner Dan Bosley for earning the NICE Award for Best Customer Convenience Improvement,” said Kurt Proctor, PhD, RPh, president of the NCPA Innovation Center. “The NICE Awards spotlight the best of community pharmacy branding and marketing – the innovations and redesigns that have made promotions more effective and patients’ experiences more rewarding. Dan’s ‘Farmacy’ project with ADK Action to stock healthy, locally sourced foods after the area grocery store closed is a truly unique way for a pharmacy to serve its community. We’re pleased to honor Keeseville Pharmacy and Dan with this award.”
Keeseville Pharmacy, which has two locations, was established in 1983. In the fall of 2017 Bosley was approached by ADK Action, a local nonprofit, as a potential hub for an indoor daily farmers’ market. He donated space in his store and the ‘Farmacy’ grew from there. It now works with the county health department on a healthy food program using local foods and holds cooking classes. It also accepts SNAP benefits.
“We believe the ripple effect from this project will bring healthy, local food to those most in need,” pharmacy owner Dan Bosley said. “We are so proud to be a partner in true wellness initiatives within our community.”
Along with the Farmacy, Keeseville Pharmacy’s products and services include standard retail, medication adherence, medication synchronization, medication therapy management, home delivery, private consultations, durable medical equipment, flu shots and immunizations, and long-term care services.
