Yes, the new 2016-17 CATS Trail Maps have arrived. If you’re a CATS donor, you will receive one in the mail. If you are not yet a CATS donor and would like one, please call or email and we’ll get you one. Likewise, if you’d like additional copies, just call or email. If you have a business and would like some for your customers, let us know and we’ll get them to you. The new map features SEVERAL NEW TRAILS and updated trail descriptions! Check out our business sponsors—they’re shown on the map. We thank them and all CATS donors for making all this possible.
Upcoming Events
You can take part in some great events this summer. Visit our website to see the full schedule. Here’s what’s up next!
Tuesday, July 26 is the “Seeing in Place” Art Hike. Bring your sketchpad, paper, pencils, pen or charcoal and meet artist Kevin Raines at the Wadhams Lookout Trailhead. Under Kevin’s guidance you will explore the landscape, wander along Crooked Brook, walk through a stand of mature hemlocks, and perch on the trail outlook for a view into the valley below. Along the way, you will stop to make drawings that reveal the beauty of your surroundings and your aesthetic sensibilities. The session will end at Kevin’s studio by the trailhead where you will enjoy his paintings of the Adirondacks and refreshments.
Please pre-register for these hikes at our website or call the office (518-962-2287) or email. Pre-registration helps ensure the event is a success! Can’t make an event but know someone who might be interested? PLEASE SHARE on Facebook or email your friends to let them know! Spread the word!
Thank you.
