History Programs
On Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m, Library Assistant Julie Steeves will present photos from her recent trip to Concord, Massachusetts, scene of the start of the Revolutionary War and the home of several famous 19th century authors, including Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. These authors were all friends and they arranged to be buried together at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. Julie and her husband Jon toured two of their homes. Julie’s talk promises to inspire you to to visit this not-too distant town of historical significance.
And coming up…
Cathy DeWolff of the Willsboro Heritage Society will give a presentation on the Battle of the Boquet, fought here 200 years ago. More details will be provided soon.
In August, Allison Pataki will discuss her novel, The Traitor’s Wife. About the woman behind Benedict Arnold and the plan to betray America, which was published in February. More details will be provided soon.
