This morning Essex residents (and our nearby Adirondack neighbors) were greeted with blizzard conditions and snow-covered lawns. That’s right, a late April snowstorm.
The daffodils had been blooming for a week. The hyacinths too. Buds are beginning to burst on fruit trees. Brassica and onions went into the vegetable garden yesterday… In so many ways it’s felt like spring lately. Nevertheless on April 26, 2016 we’re “enjoying” a late April snowstorm, almost an end-of-April snowstorm.
We’ve gathered a few startling images from our friends to document this decidedly unspringlike day.

Is this the Last Late April Snowstorm?
Only time will tell, but I’m certainly ready for spring. And summer! Not winter…
