This season’s upcoming events will give us many exciting appearances, including the return of Chilean pianist Paulina Zamora in Duo Mistral, Westport’s stupendous voice and piano duo Alisa Endsley and Russell Ames, internationally-acclaimed violinist Linda Rosenthal with Rose Chancler at the piano, Vermont-via-LA’s stupendous singer-songwriter Gregory Douglass, and the much-talked-about return of JazzicalTM with virtuoso pianist Joel A. Martin. All concerts will be held at the historic Hand House in Elizabethtown, NY, and will be presented on Saturday evenings at 7PM and Sunday afternoons at 3PM unless notified otherwise. On October 22 & 23, 2016 Duo Mistral will perform at the historic Hand House Parlor in two concerts. Saturday’s concert will take place at 7:00 pm and Sunday’s concert will take place at 3:00 pm.
In these concerts Piano by Nature welcomes the return of Chilean pianist Paulina Zamora in a new role — now performing four-hand repertoire of Schubert, Brahms, Barber, and Poulenc with Santiago-based pianist Karina Glasinovic.

About Paulina Zamora
Chilean-American pianist Paulina Zamora was born in Antofagasta, Chile.
She was educated at the University of Chile (BM), the Eastman School of Music (MM), and Indiana University (DM). Her main teachers have included Rebecca Penneys, Gyorgy Sebok and Janos Starker. Her solo, concerto and chamber music appearances have taken Paulina throughout the Americas, Europe, East Asia and the Middle East. She is a sought after collaborative pianist and has concertized with distinguished cellist Janos Starker, with violinist Corey Cerovsek, with violist Atar Arad, with pianists Rebecca Penneys and Karina Glasinovic, with tenor Alan Bennett and flutist Jacques Zoon, among others.
She taught at the Valencia Conservatory in Spain and was Associate Professor of Piano and Theory at EAFIT University in Medellín, Colombia, from 1999 to 2001. Beginning September of 2001 through August of 2005, she was a member of the Felici Piano Trio in residence in Mammoth Lakes, California, an integral part of Chamber Music Unbound, a non-profit organization. From 2006 to 2010, Ms. Zamora was professor of Piano and Theory and Coordinator of the Theory Department at the ‘Instituto Profesional Escuela Moderna de Música’ in Santiago, Chile. At present she is an Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Chile School of Music.
Recent master classes and solo recitals in the United States and abroad have included the Boston Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts, Carleton College in Carleton Minnesota, University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, Wisconsin, University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho and University of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia, Conservatorio Nacional de Lima, Peru.

About Karina Glasinovic
Outstanding Chilean pianist and composer Karina Glasinovic has established herself as a musician of broad interests and passions in the fields of music making. In addition to a successful performing career in the areas of solo, chamber music and collaboration, she has also written a significant amount of piano solo, song cycles and chamber works thus developing a growing reputation as a composer.
She studied at the University of Chile, the Julliard School of Music, Mannes School of Music and at the EAMA- European American Alliance- in Paris. Her most recent awards include the ‘Altazor’ and the ‘Academia de Bellas Artes’ both in Chile, José Victoria from Spain and the Honor Award for her Three Preludes for piano solo in Ecole Normale de Musique, Paris, France. She has played in reputed venues such as Carnegie Hall-92 Y, Kennedy Center, Cite des Arts, Mozarteum, Salle Cortot, Salle Martinu, Radio Budapest, Sala Verdi and Teatro Colon, among others. At present, after 15 years residing in New-York City, she is living in Santiago, Chile where she enjoys an intense schedule of performances and teaching of chamber music and piano at the University de Chile. She is a member of Duo Mistral with Paulina Zamora, for piano four hands and two pianos, which have toured and premiered pieces in Chile, Peru, Colombia and the United States. Also, Karina is a co-Director of Duo Mistral Concert Season. In 2015, she wrote Fantasía Barroca, a piano concerto with strings orchestra, dedicated and performed by Paulina Zamora and the Orchestra of University of Los Andes, Chile in 2015.
She toured Asia and Europe last year, with the Ensemble Bartok, a Chilean contemporary music ensemble, with whom she played her latest composition piano trio “Arrurrupata,” that received an enthusiastic response from the audience. In 2015, Karina received a commission from ALAPP-Latin American Piano Teachers Association to write piano pieces for children which received great acclaimed from teachers, students and the audience. This year, she received a commission from Ensemble Bartok to write a piece for the ensemble together with Symphonic Orchestra of Chile that will be premiered in January 2017.
