On behalf of EVERYONE at the Adirondack Mountain Club (commonly referred to as ADK), thank you for riding with us this year. For some of you, it was your 9th time (you know who you are!) We are deeply grateful to you for participating in this event. Together, we raised almost $35,000 for ADK’s wilderness protection programs. We LOVE the Adirondacks and want to spread the love — outdoor recreation is key to this love. So, here’s what the 2014 ididaride! group was comprised of:
- 495 riders total (2013 = 468 riders total)
- 405 75-milers / 7 bike escorts/sweeps
- 80 20-milers (a record year!) / 3 bike escorts/sweeps
- 30 registrants cancelled or did not show, so we had 525 registered!
- 70% male /30% female

2014 ididaride Feedback
Now it is your turn — PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE – I want your feedback — it is what guides our improvements each year.
What was good about the ride/ how we can make it better?

Please help me determine the economic impact of this event on the local economy. We are always trying to demonstrate that outdoor enthusiasts pour money into our local economies when they come to visit and play.
- If you stayed overnight, where did you stay? Go ahead and rate it.
- If you ate in town or nearby, where did you dine? Get coffee? Get gas?
- Camping was permitted in the Ski Bowl Park this year, would you consider camping there?
- Did you take advantage of the Hudson River rafting deal with Whitewater Challengers? Would you consider it?
- Did you visit any other attractions while in for ididaride? visit downtown North Creek?
And now that you’ve completed your evaluation, here are some links to photos to enjoy!

ididaride Information
If you missed our earlier 2014 ididaride post, here’s the map, narrative overview and elevation diagram. Start training for next summer.

You’ll ride through some of the most beautiful scenery – cutting right through the central Adirondack Mountains, most of which is public Forest Preserve land. We’ll cycle through the towns and hamlets of Bakers Mills, Wells, Speculator, Sabael, Indian Lake, North River, and back to North Creek. Your ride will take you alongside Mason Lake, Lewey Lake and Indian Lake. A long descent begins in the hamlet of Indian Lake and meets the Hudson River in the hamlet of North River with a relatively easy ride into North Creek. (Adirondack Mountain Club)
