About Shirley LaForest
Shirley Cross La Forest, whose family settled in Essex c.1803, was formerly a teacher in New York and Virginia as well as an educational supervisor in the Micronesian Islands. After retiring from the U.S. Department of State, she returned to Essex locating within a mile of her family farm on Cross Road. She is presently the Town of Essex Historian.
