We will be just down the block. Steve Errick, the new owner of 2310 Main Street, Essex, which last housed a yoga studio, saw our December newsletter on the Essex on Lake Champlain blog, and offered us space on the main floor. Several of us recently met with Steve in his building, and it is wonderfully light and in excellent condition. Here are Penny, Steve, Dennis and Trista – all smiles!
This year, the main 40×20 foot space will be ours to use. Then starting in 2023, he will have a bookstore there – The Book and Leaf – and our artists can display on the walls above the bookshelves, as well as on display shelves and tables. Thank you Steve!
Thank you so much to those who responded to our December Newsletter, which let you know how much the AAA needs your help. It was very difficult to reach the decision to tell you what dire straits we were in, and it is a great relief that reaching out made a big difference. We now have a new gallery space and a grant for social media!
AAA’s 2022 Season
Our season this summer will be a little shorter, running from July 1 to September 5, Labor Day. We would like to be open Wednesday-Sunday from 11 am to 5pm, but we need enough people to cover the hours.
Three Member Shows are planned, each lasting about three weeks.
- July 1 – July 20: drop off date June 22 & hang on June 23
for a June 25 soft opening & July 1 Opening Reception - July 22 – Aug 10: drop off & pick up July 20 & hang on July 21
- Aug 12 – Sept 3: drop off & pick up on Aug 10 & hang on Aug 11
- End of season pick up Sept 3-5
If there is interest, and the people resources are there, we can
expand into fall and even winter, because the space will be heated.
Shoot the Moon Workshop! Back by popular demand, Dennis Kalma offers a workshop to photograph the August full moon from the ferry! Bring any camera to the perfect location – weather and clouds permitting – and Dennis will help you capture the shot.
