Adirondack Community Foundation (ACF) today announced the appointment of two new Trustees to its Board and the hiring of a new Administrative Officer, further strengthening the organization’s capacity to serve the greater Adirondack region. The new Trustees are Daniel P. Leff and Lynn Magnus, and Emily Sheft joins the staff as the new Administrative Officer.

The two new Trustees bring a wealth of diverse experience and a deep commitment to the region’s well-being.

Daniel P. Leff is a Managing Member of The Placid Group LLC, who has extensive experience building, leading, and restructuring global energy services, industrial automation/manufacturing, technology, and software companies. He is currently an investor, advisor, and board member in growth companies, and advises private equity and venture capital funds involved in climate technology and the energy transition. Dan also serves as a board member of the Trudeau Institute and as a member of Point Positive. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Union College and lives in Lake Placid with his wife, Pam.

Lynn Magnus, a Principal Financial Advisor at Long Run Wealth Advisors, spent the first 20 years of her career focused on corporate financial planning and analysis, including serving as the Chief Financial Officer of the Investment Banking Division at Goldman, Sachs & Co. She is now the co-owner of Long Run Wealth Advisors, which helps individuals and small businesses achieve their personal and financial goals. Lynn is an active community member in Lake Placid, focusing on the opportunity gap impacting local children. She serves on the Board of the Lake Placid Outing Club and on the Board of the Educational Opportunity Fund, which benefits the Lake Placid Central School District. She lives in Lake Placid with her husband, Bryan, and their son, Jackson.

The new Administrative Officer, Emily Sheft, is a Lake Placid resident who most recently taught 9th–12th grade Social Studies at Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES. Prior to that, she held teaching positions at Port Chester High School in Nyack, New York, and Isaac Newton Middle School for Math & Science in New York City. Before her time as an educator, Emily served as an executive assistant in California. Born and raised in Lake Placid, she received her B.A. in Government and Asian Studies from St. Lawrence University and her M.A. in Teaching from New York University.
