Well the gallery is finally up and running and our first opening was a hit. About a hundred people came to see our new space and the new works of art. Many people have visited since then remarking on what a wonderful spot we have and how lucky we were to get it. One door closes, another opens, and it surely did for us. I’m feeling grateful for all the help I’ve had to get this project up and running.
Expressing Thanks
First and foremost I really want to express gratitude for our very dedicated President and Secretary, Jeff Moredock and Susan Britain. They have gone way beyond the call of duty, and donated many hours of volunteer service to the AAA. They have both made themselves available to help me whenever I needed anything. Jeff has spent plenty of his own cash to help the cause, and many hours negotiating, calling, emailing, and running around in handling our legal business. Susan coaches me lovingly with her years of gallery hanging experience and becomes my perfect teammate when writing publicity and grant proposals. I am sure the members have very little idea how much they have put into this project.
I’m also grateful for the help I received from some of our exhibitors: Kristen Eden for help cleaning; Joe DiNapoli for help moving and painting; Jay Frank, Ann Pember’s husband for carpentry work; Glenn Estus for once again saving my skin by rearranging his schedule so he could be here for drop-off day; Judy Koenig for help on hanging day; Amy Guglielmo for help with hanging and bringing food for the opening; Joe Robinson and Randy Boutilier for bringing food for the opening; Jim Friday for making me new templates for our sales log; and a big thank you to our lovely web designer, Joanna Bateman, who is downloading your artwork to the website even as I write this.
Artists, please continue to send photos of artwork for our website. Take a look at the newly designed website here: www.adirondackartassociation.com.
Thanks again,
Janice Koenig

Congrats to all those that have worked so hard to get the Adirondack Art Association up and running. It is a beautiful addition to the community and a creative haven for our talented and passionate artists. Janice ever since I have known you, you are a full steam ahead kinda girl, knowing that things will always work out and not taking short cuts. I am happy for you, all those involved and for those yet to discover the AAA! It really does take a “village” to build something successful. Like the saying says, If you build it they will come….here’s wishing the Adirondack Art Association years and years of success! The Halpin’s generosity is being put to amazing use!
