
The Champlain Valley Film Series presents one of the most talked-about documentaries of the year, Free Solo, with special guest renowned climber, author and Adirondack guide Don Mellor, at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall on Saturday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Free Solo, winner of Best Documentary at last month’s Academy Awards, is a stunning, intimate and unflinching portrait of free soloist climber Alex Honnold, as he prepares to climb the face of the world’s most famous rock – 3,200 foot El Capitan in Yosemite National Park – without a rope. The film will be introduced by Don Mellor, author of four Adirondack rock and ice climbing guides, and other books. Mellor has climbed El Capitan and other Yosemite walls and will answer questions after the film
