CvWireless, LLC (cv-wireless.com), recently launched by Essex resident Beth Schiller, is a wireless Internet service provider (WISP) in Essex and Willsboro. Schiller started working with technology more than a decade ago in order to work from her home in Essex.
About CvWireless
Years ago WISP technology was expensive and a pair of radios might cost as much as ten thousand dollars. Thanks to technology and the 3rd world clambering for internet access despite access to minimal infrastructure for traditional phone lines and cable internet, new developments have occurred and the cost has fallen.
According to Schiller, a WISP typically operates by “pulling a large and usually expensive point to point connection to the center of the area they wish to service. At individual homes, homeowners will mount a small dish or antenna to the roof of their home and point it back to the WISP’s nearest antenna site.”
Although the cost of CvWireless internet access is comparable to satellite, Schiller explained that WISP technology offers a significant benefit over satellite internet access because weather does not affect the signal or service. Currently there are no monthly bandwidth limitations, and speeds over 50M download and 50M upload are easily obtainable through the antennas. As business grows, CvWireless will only need to contact their upstream fiber internet supplier to increase capacity.
Individual customers can “share” bandwidth just as cable companies share the “pipe” or a company or individual can purchase dedicated bandwidth for more sophisticated needs at a fraction of the legacy T-1 pricing that still exists today.

I have had this service with Beth Schiller of CV Wireless, LLC for the past few months for my home and business. It is a tremendous improvement over my previous satellite service. Satellite and dial-up were the only choices available here until CV Wireless came to the rescue. My productivity at work has increased and we are grateful for it.
