Program Updates
Essex Resident and historian Nick Muller will discuss his recent book, Inventing Ethan Allen, which he co-authored with John J. Duffy, on Wednesday, August 20 at 7:00 p.m. (Please note date change!) Nick will address numerous questions about Allen’s life including: Why did accounts of his life and deeds appear 50 years after his death? Why has history created this hero? Why does imagery of Allen depict him in a Continental officers uniform when he never held a commission? Donations to the library will be requested but not required.
Allison Pataki’s program and has been postponed because of a scheduling conflict. We will try to reschedule this event in the near future.

Stephanie Beneng has started as our new Library Assistant. Stephanie, a graduate of Allegheny College, lives in Essex with her husband and two young sons. Stephanie will be substituting for me as needed during August and September and will be alternating with me during the winter months.
