The Town of Essex will show off its patriotic spirit this July 4th.
Main Street shops and cafes will have flag motif decor and special “sidewalk sale” tables – weather permitting – on Saturday, July 4th from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. There will also be a Farmer’s Market at the Pink Pig. Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness will be offering chair massage and yoga goodies.
The annual 6.5k Firecracker Run will take place starting at 8:00 am (registration begins at 7:30 am). The race begins at NEW Health, located on NYS Rt. 22 and Blockhouse Road, who is sponsoring the run. All proceeds will be donated to the Essex Fire Department. If at least 100 runners attend, then the NEW Health will match the donation. The Kids Fun Run will begin at 9:15 am at the blinking light. Learn more here and on the event Facebook page.
Join the Red, White & Blue Bike Ride leaving Lake Champlain Yoga & Wellness at 8:00 am and ride to the Dogwood Bakery in Wadhams.
The Adirondack Art Association will host an art workshop for kids at 3:00 pm. Children will learn to build “fairy houses.” Young children should be accompanied by a grownup to help supervise hot glue gun use.
Enjoy the first Essex Community Concert of the summer with the dynamic organist, Carol Williams, who will perform at Essex Community Church starting at 7:00 pm.
Essex restaurants and cafes will be open during regular hours with lake view dining opportunities.

Note: This year the fireworks and parade will take place in neighboring Willsboro. View the fireworks at 9:30 pm on Friday, July 3rd. Watch the parade in Willsboro at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 4th. The Essex Library will be closed on July 4th and will be participating in the parade.
