Individuals interested in starting their own food processing business can register for the seminar “From Recipe to Market: A Seminar for Future Food Entrepreneurs,” which will take place Sunday, October 19 at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Leading the seminar is Bob Weybright, a food consultant with experience in all aspects of agriculture, including production, processing, marketing, and sales. Weybright specializes in new business development and small business management.
Topics on the agenda include food business basics, developing a marketing strategy and communication plan, the New York State Food Venture Center, market trends and product development, regulatory agencies and requirements, and food safety, processing, and packaging.
The seminar costs $75 and includes lunch and all educational materials. Individuals can register here or call Laurie Davis at 962-4810 ext. 404.
The Whallonsburg Grange Hall is located at 1610 NYS Route 22 at the intersection with Whallons Bay Road. This event is co-sponsored by the Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Whallonsburg Civic Association.
