Congratulations to Sheri Amsel, whose design for one of the interpretive signs at the Black Kettle Nature Trail is featured for the month of December in the calendar published by Pannier Graphics, the organization that converted her artwork into the beautiful sign. You can see all the signs and learn about natural communities when you hike the trail. It is located on Cook Road in Essex, about 200 yards west of Leaning Road.
You’ll also see the fabulous new bridge whose construction Lloyd Staats coordinated for an Eagle Scout badge.
Lloyd Staats, second from the left, stands with his father and brothers on the new bridge at the Black Kettle Trail. Lloyd coordinated the bridge-building as an eagle scout project. We thank Lloyd and the whole Staats Family, Kevin Cooper, John Looby, and Tommy Maron for building this much-needed bridge. It will make the trail safer and more enjoyable for all hikers, especially the school groups that learn about the outdoors as they hike this interpretive nature trail.
Thank you Sheri and Lloyd.
