On Saturday, September 28th (7PM) and Sunday, September 29th (3PM) Piano by Nature will present the first two concerts of our 12th season which we are calling ‘The Year of Song.’ And who better to give us a rip-roaring start than Westport’s dynamic duo Broadway great Alisa Endsley and pianist extraordinaire Russell Ames.
Piano by Nature will present two exceptionally special concerts of local musical luminaries Alisa Endsley and Russell Ames. Alisa has performed as leading lady on Broadway and London’s West End in collaboration with some of theater’s biggest names like Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Trevor Nunn, Patti Lupone, George Hearn, and Betty Buckley, while pianist Russell Ames has directed more than eighty community theater productions as well as serving as the accompanist for 32 years for the University Glee Club of New York City.
Piano By Nature is proud to celebrate these two exceptional musicians and members of our local community. Included in the program will be works of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sondheim, Berlin, and a wide variety of scintillating stories and even more songs from Broadway to Carnegie Hall. A reception with the artists will follow the performances.

Alisa Endsley has portrayed numerous leading ladies of the musical stage from Sandy & Rizzo in Grease, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, Eva Peron in Evita to the lead role of Norma Desmond in the original company of Sunset Boulevard in London’s West End as well as on Broadway. As a lead vocalist she has sung with the B.B.C. orchestra, recorded in the famous Abbey Road studios, been the featured guest on many radio & television shows in the United Kingdom as well as here in the U.S. Alisa can be seen in N.Y. About Russell
Russell Ames has directed more than eighty student and community theatre productions of Gilbert and Sullivan and Broadway musicals, served 32 years as an accompanist for the University Glee Club of New York City, accompanied singers at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and various other venues here and abroad. He was Director of Development at the esteemed Riverdale Country School and also the Horace Mann School in New York City.
