Pleasant Valley Chorale Welcomes New Musical Director Nora Nadire for Spring Session

We are thrilled to announce that the Pleasant Valley Chorale community choir will be holding a spring session at the Elizabethtown Social Center. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, January 7, and will be held weekly from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Social Center. Concert dates are Friday, April 11 and Sunday, April 13. Regular attendance is expected. Dues for the session are $15.

Auditions are not necessary. This long-running community choir has been sponsored by the Elizabethtown Social Center since the 1980s.

The Center welcomes Nora Nadire as the new Musical Director. Kerry Mero will return as Accompanist. Nora, a resident of Essex, has been singing classically since she was 11 years old. At Smith College, she performed in the Glee Club, Chamber Singers, and co-directed an a cappella group, the Smithereens. During her graduate years at Trinity College in Dublin, she sang with the Trinity College singers. She enjoys sharing the practice of Kirtan as a yoga teacher and in other meditative settings.

She looks forward to this new chapter with the Chorale after being a singer in the group. “I’m excited to lead the Chorale. Singing in a choir is a community-building experience, and I enjoy helping people find their authentic voice and increase confidence in their singing.”
