I recently discovered that the Essex home renovated by Spanish designer Serge Castella was featured in the July/August 2013 Spanish edition of Architectural Digest. The article, “Sueño Americano” (“American Dream” in English) showcases the handsome, minimalist renovation that Serge Castella and Jason Flinn undertook on Elm Street.
The interior of the gambrel roofed cottage opposite the Noble Clemons House and the Charles G. Fancher House was gutted and rehabilitated, painstakingly balancing the building’s historic legacy with a mid-century modern aesthetic. The result is a calm, soothing space that invites one’s eyes to wander to the leafy canopies and sloping lawns outside.
In addition to the images above, you can find the article featured on Serge Castella’s website if you would like to explore further (and to discover other Serge Castella projects). Click here to visit the website.
Milieu Cover Features Serge Castella
In addition to the Spanish edition of Architectural Digest mentioned above, Jason Flinn and Serge Castella’s Essex cottage was also showcased in the summer 2015 edition of Milieu magazine. In fact, it made the cover! Enjoy the gallery below if you missed the original article.
