Syrian Refugee Initiatives

A Presentation and Discussion will be held by Syrian & Palestinian-Israeli Middle East families helping Syrian refugees through McGill University’s Graduate School of Social Work and International Community Action Network (ICAN).
McGill’s ICAN program will train Syrians in Canada to eventually return to their country and rebuild their devastated communities.
Presenters:
- Mr. Adnan Mahameed, Syrian Democracy Activist, parent
- Grade school students Adan (13), Moad (13), and Nilly (11) [After they present they will meet with American grade school students for a guided conversation]
- Mr. Anwar Alhjooj, Human Rights Lawyer, parent
- Ms. Tahany Okby, Children’s Rights Advocate and Therapist, parent
A meet and greet will immediately follow the presentation.
