Tentative 2015 Tax Assessments

The Assessors of the Town of Essex want all to know that the Tentative Assessment for the current year are available at the town clerks office, where it may be seen and examined by any interested person until the fourth Tuesday of May which is May 26th.

Essex County Real Property Tax Services have published a link to the Tentative 2015 Assessment Rolls for the Town of Essex.

Assessors in Attendance

The assessors will be in attendance with the Tentative Assessment Roll on the following dates: May 5 10-noon and 1-3, May 12 10-noon and 1-3, May 16 9 -1 and May 19 2-4 and 7-9.

Board of Assessment Review

The Board of Assessment Review (BAR) will meet on May 26, 2015 between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 at the Essex Town Hall to hear and examine complaints in relation to assessments, on the written application of any person believing him/herself to be aggrieved. A publication on contesting your assessment in New York State is available at www.tax.ny.gov.
