We received word this week that Essex County Arts Council was awarded $20,000 from the Board of Supervisors to re-grant as part of our Cultural Assistance Program (CAP) awards!
This is a huge increase over the amount we received in past years, and reflects our county leaders’ growing awareness of the economic impact of arts in our communities. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, from the nonprofits and artists that wrote letters of appreciation, to those who attended our meet-n-greet luncheon for supervisors and artists in March 2016, and most importantly to you arts and culture appreciators all over the region.
It is now time to apply for your 2017 CAP award. The deadline is March 15th. You can find the application form, ECAC membership form if needed, and 2016 final report form if needed plus much more info at http://www.essexcountyarts.org/grants/application.
Please note that — new this year — we are only accepting applications emailed as PDFs. If you have ANY trouble with this let us know and we can provide technical assistance.
This year we want to be sure to receive CAP grant applications from all 18 towns in Essex County. Chesterfield, Lewis, Minerva, Moriah, Newcomb, North Hudson, St. Armand—we’re looking at YOU!
It’s an exciting time for arts and culture in our communities, and we thank you for all your efforts and support.
You can find the Essex County Arts Council at www.EssexCountyArts.org, or via email at EssexCountyNYarts@gmail.com.
