Annie McKinley and Bill James joined the board of Champlain Area Trails at the January 19 board meeting held at Camp Dudley’s beautiful MacLean Lodge. They replaced outgoing board members Anne Lincoln and Malinda Chapman, who were thanked for their service at the meeting with commemorative “Hike the Lake” posters in gratitude for their service.
Annie McKinley is a psychiatric social worker and realtor who feels fortunate that her childhood summers were spent in Wesport. Annie has served on the Elizabethtown Lewis school board, on the Westport Library Association board and on the Wadhams Free Library, where she served as treasurer. She and her husband Schelling have lived in Westport since 1978 and have three adult children. With hiking and biking among her favorite activities, she looks forward to serving on the CATS board.
Bill James resides and practices law in Willsboro with a focus on not-for-profit, labor and employment law. His local board service has included Essex Maritime Festival, Lake Champlain Film Society, and Aiken’s Volunteers Fife & Drum Corps. Bill and his wife Kendra also served for many years in the U.S. Naval Reserve. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, Bill brings a special skillset to the CATS board.
“We’re delighted to have people the caliber of Annie and Bill on our board of directors,” said CATS Board Chair Evan George. “As CATS nears our tenth anniversary in 2019, our board is crucial in to helping us grow and expand our reach and fulfill our mission to save land and make trails.”
