A workshop on “Writing the Grant” will be held at the Ticonderoga Community Building on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Registration begins at 9:30am. This workshop is intended for entry level grant writers from museums, historical societies, libraries and community groups. Topics include identifying your organization’s readiness for grant funds, identifying possible grant sources, understanding what is most important to grant reviewers, and preparing grant applications. Get step-by-step instructions for presenting a well prepared grant application. The morning session offers an overview of the grant writing process. The afternoon session is a hands-on working session looking at two grant sources: one for developing programs, the other for addressing building needs.
The workshop is sponsored by Lakes to Locks Passage, a nonprofit organization that strives to build stewardship of the region’s rich historic, cultural, recreational and natural resources. This program is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
The Ticonderoga Community Building is located at 132 Montcalm Street, Ticonderoga, NY. The workshop is open to all. Lunch and workshop materials will be provided for $15. Registration is required. To register, please contact Margaret Gibbs at mgibbs@lakestolocks.org.
