Vermont Commons (VCS), a college preparatory independent school for students in grades 7-12, located in South Burlington, offers a morning shuttle service from the Charlotte ferry dock and transports students to the school each day during the academic year. Max Stransky of Essex is a ninth grader at Vermont Commons (VCS) and takes the ferry to the Green Mountain State to attend the school.

Encounter Week
An integral part of the Vermont Commons School educational experience is the Encounter Week program and each year, every student participates in three different programs per year (fall, winter, and spring). The 9th graders just completed a 200+ mile five day, four night, bike trip around Lake Champlain and it included an overnight stay in Essex at the home of the Stransky’s on Whallon’s Bay. The students are pictured above on day three!
