Take a look at this vintage artifact! Have you ever seen something like this? It’s actually a postcard! Note the location at the bottom — Boquet, NY (part of the Essex township!). When do you think it dates to? Would love to hear your thoughts!
We had one guess for the year from the community:
Ann Dickinson: 1895?
I think that year is certainly possible. The stamped date on the back side of the postcard (seen below) reads what looks like April 3, 1915. The date is also written by the sender along the central line more clearly. What do you think? (You can click the photo to enlarge.) So that would date the creation of the postcard to likely that year or prior to that year.

The message on the back speaks of illnesses and death in the community — sad at any time…
