The Taylor Haskins Quartet Blows in for a Swingin’ Valentine’s Night at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall
Saturday, February 14 will be a hot and sweet night at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall as Grammy award-winning trumpeter and composer Taylor Haskins brings his quartet to the stage. “A Swinging’ Valentine’s Night” features this popular and very talented jazz band performing music for listening and dancing in this historic community center, set up for the evening cabaret-style with tables and a dance floor. Wine and cider from Elfs Farm Winery and Cider House will be available. The show starts at 7:30, with a swing dance lesson at 6:30.
Westport resident Taylor Haskins has been hailed as one of the most original new voices on the trumpet today. He has toured around the world and records with a variety of bands, from Guillermo Klein’s Los Guachos to the Dave Holland Big Band. His original compositions have been featured on five recordings, including 2014’s critically acclaimed Fuzzy Logic.
