The Adirondack Art Association Announces Their 2016 Gallery Schedule
The Adirondack Art Association is excited to announce their upcoming 2016 Gallery Schedule. Open seasonally from late May to early October, the Adirondack Art Association (AAA) is a 501c3 not-for-profit community organization. Currently situated in a quaint yellow house on Lake Champlain, located on 2754 Essex Rd in Essex, New York, the AAA hosts a variety of arts programming including four fine art exhibitions throughout the summer season. This year the gallery will feature a rotating group show of artist members’ works as well as a spotlight artist each month. This year spotlight artists will include Amy and Judy Guglielmo, Ann Pember, Kevin Raines, and William Crosby.

The May/June Art Exhibit will feature the mother-daughter duo Amy and Judy Guglielmo. Known for their colorful mixed media depictions of flowers, landscapes, birds, and portraits the Guglielmos will be celebrating their 26th year exhibiting together. Judy Guglielmo has been featured in numerous art exhibits including the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, the Depot Theatre, the Strand Center for the Arts, the Adirondack Artists Guild, Clinton Community College, and SUNY Plattsburgh. Amy Guglielmo has received publicity for leading the 30 City Community Center’s “Outside Art: Plattsburgh Public Art Project,” receiving two grants to bring public art to downtown Plattsburgh. The Opening Reception for the May/June Art Exhibit is May 27 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

Ann Pember’s emotive watercolor paintings will be featured in the July Art Exhibit. Pember’s accomplishments include being presented in more than 245 national juried exhibitions and her paintings have won more than 60 awards. Her work has been featured in more than 40 books and publications, including 6 of the popular Splash books by North Light Books. The Opening Reception for the July Art Exhibit is July 1 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

The August Art Exhibit will feature Kevin Raines, whose love of nature and conservation efforts are captured in his paintings and sketches. In 2015 Raines collaborated with the Adirondack Council while preparing his series “Share the Experience: Adventures in the Adirondacks” which was exhibited at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts and the View in Old Forge. The Opening Reception for the August Art Exhibit is August 5 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

William Crosby’s abstract landscape paintings will be featured in the September Art Exhibit. A retired Professor of Art, having taught for over 35 years at the State University of New York in Plattsburgh, Crosby’s work has gained notoriety. Many of his paintings are in private and public collections, including the New York State Museum in Albany, the Wyeth Laboratories, the UVM Health Network at CVPH, in various offices of Bank of America, and in the art collection of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. The Opening Reception for the September Art Exhibit is September 2 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
The Adirondack Art Association opens for the season on Friday, May 27, 2016. All gallery openings are free and open to the public with light refreshments being served. The AAA hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm May 27 to July 1; everyday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm July 1 to September 3; and Thursdays through Sundays from September 3 to October 10, 2016.
