Adirondack Art Association

The Adirondack Art Association (AAA) is “a non-profit organization devoted to the encouragement of art and community in the Adirondack region of Northern New York State” (Adirondack Art Association).

The organization began in 1963, and members now number over 100, including exhibiting artists and individuals who provide enthusiastic support for the arts.

“As a community organization, we are proud to promote the work of local artists and to offer art-oriented workshops for all ages that draw on the North Country’s immense reservoir of artistic talent.” (Adirondack Art Association)

The AAA gallery is located on Main Street in the historic village of Essex, NY, on the shores of the beautiful Lake Champlain. You may know the building as the old firehouse if you’re a local!

The gallery features exhibits from May to October, with a special Christmas show in early December. There are always unique, beautiful, and interesting pieces on display from local artists.

What’s Happening at the Gallery Now?

Right now the gallery is hosting an exhibit called Nature and Architecture that features paintings and photographs by artists Carol and Frank Hochreiter.

“In this stunning exhibition of visions juxtaposed, Carol and Frank Hochreiter explore themes of the natural and the fabricated” (Adirondack Art Association).

This show runs from May 25 to June 26. Go see it soon before it’s over! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for future exhibits as well!

The Adirondack Art Association would love your support! Art appreciation is a good trait to cultivate.

If you are an artist interested in showcasing your work the AAA is a non-juried gallery, so all artwork is welcome at the discretion of the Board, including handmade craft work. Contact the AAA to find out more and get your work out there!

Join a Workshop

The Adirondack Art Association will be organizing several workshops throughout the year for members and non-members to enjoy. Members get a 10% discount off workshops that have a fee. Some are free!

Keep an eye out for the perfect workshop to unleash your artistic side!
