Sunday, May 6 from 1-5pm
At the Whallonsburg Grange Hall
“Imagine six different, divergent futures for the Park . . . 25 years from now.
Everyone welcome. No registration fee.
This scenario-planning workshop will help participants develop a vision for what our region could be like in the future. It is one of a series taking place in Long Lake, Old Forge, Keene Valley, Saranac Lake and other communities. The workshops are totally interactive and you can expect to work hard here. The goal is to create detailed scenarios about the future of the Park, debate them, analyze them and, by the end of the workshop, look at ways to blend them into the most desirable but realistic path forward. The broad range of ideas and possibilities envisioned in these six scenarios allow many points of view to be considered in the workshops. The Common Ground Alliance will gather all the data and input from these workshops together in a report this summer.

“This is the freshest, most exciting planning initiative I have attended in the last 30 years in the Adirondacks.” – Steven Engelhart, Executive Director, Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH)
ADK Futures (www.adkfutures.org) is a project by Dave Mason and Jim Herman on behalf of the Adirondack Common Ground Alliance. They are retired strategy consultants who live in Keene, and who launched this project to stimulate new, creative, thinking about the challenges and opportunities ahead and start a new conversation among a broad set of people that care about the Park.” [Classes and Workshops – Whallonsburg Grange Hall.]
