New AAA Gallery Space Has Successful Summer

Hello to all friends of the Adirondack Art Association Gallery! What a great summer we have had here at the Halpin’s gorgeous house. The weather has cooperated nicely, and so very many visitors to the gallery have taken the time to come and tell me what a positive and special energy they feel walking through these rooms. I’m so grateful for all of this. I’m also grateful for the really wonderful support our membership has demonstrated through financial help, attendance to our activities, and volunteering of time and services.

Our silent auction fundraiser was a success, and we even managed to have fun while doing it. Having the food vending done by Russ Bailey and Kashka with their “Griddles” operation was a great addition to the festive atmosphere, as was the free musical entertainment provided by our member Shane Cariffe. Both of these ideas will be expanded upon for next year’s event. Our board members and other gallery friends really helped to make this come together in a cooperative way.

The Adirondack Art Association was founded in 1963 to encourage art and contribute to community in the Adirondack Region. Our gallery showcases the work of 100+ members from May to October, with a special Christmas show in early December. We are proud to promote the work of local artists and to offer art-oriented workshops for all ages that draw on the North Country's immense reservoir of artistic talent. We gratefully acknowledge the past support of the Essex Community Fund, the New York State Council on the Arts and the Arts Council for the Northern Adirondacks as we look ahead to new programs that contribute to the artistic vitality of the region.
