This summer Champlain Area Trails (CATS) is hosting “Fridays on the Trail” projects. Volunteers are welcomed to help clear and mark trails that need maintenance.
“Creating and maintaining trails take a lot of effort,” said Chris Maron, “and we rely on volunteers. […] We have increasing numbers of trail projects now that we’ve initiated the new ‘Fridays on the Trails’ endeavor that allows people to participate more.” (CATS)
This Friday, June 21, the group will return to Field and Forest Trail. Meet at 1:00 at Dogwood Bread Company in Wadhams, NY. Bring gloves and loppers if you have them, but some tools will be provided by CATS.
The following note was left on the CATS Facebook page about this week’s trail work:
We made good progress last week but still have several tasks to do including, clearing branches from a short re-route to a better stream crossing, marking a small part of the trail, and putting in 2 x 2 posts marking the trail across the fields.
