
Closing the Education Gap:
CFES National Conference Provides Tools for Tomorrow’s Leaders
Five hundred educators, corporate leaders, and students from across the country will gather for the 17th annual College For Every Student (CFES) National Conference to explore strategies for guiding low-income students toward college success. Steve Pemberton, named one of top 20 Chief Diversity Officers in corporate America by Fortune, and Lt. Col. Consuelo Kickbusch, author of Journey to the Future, will be among the featured speakers at this year’s event on November 8-9 at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany, NY.
About Steve Pemberton

Steve Pemberton, is a child advocate, motivational speaker, and author of A Chance in The World. In addition to being recognized by Fortune, Pemberton was called to Capitol Hill to provide expert testimony on best practices in diversity recruiting and in 2008 he was named by Savoy as one of The Top 100 most influential African-Americans in corporate America.
About Lt. Col. (Ret.) Consuelo Kickbusch

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Consuelo Kickbusch, is the founder of Educational Achievement Services, Inc. and author of Journey to the Future. For two decades, she served as an officer in the U.S. Army, setting records to become the highest-ranking Hispanic woman in the Combat Support Field. Kickbush will speak to educators and students on what it takes to be an effective leader in today’s global marketplace.

Tom McBride and Ron Nief, authors of The Mindset Lists of American History: From Typewriters to Text Messages, What Ten Generations of Americans Think is Normal is an outgrowth of the internationally popular annual Beloit College Mindset List. They will augment two days of concurrent workshops, panels, and discussions.
