Everyone at the Essex Community Church is busily preparing for our annual Christmas bazaar, to be held on the first Saturday in December (the 6th) from 10 until 2 PM. We hope you will all stop in, enjoy the choice of our soups and sandwiches for lunch, relax with Grace MacLeod’s lovely piano music, and shop at our craft, white elephant and baked food tables, featuring our annual cookie boxes, candy, preserves and assorted baked goods. Also available will be the annual 2015 Essex calendars produced by Shirley LaForest.
The following Friday, December 12th, at 7:30 PM, the Pleasant Valley Chorale will perform at the church, under the direction of Susan Hughes….this is an annual event, well loved, and well attended, with outstanding music…don’t miss it! This will be the start of the village’s Christmas Magic in Essex! Join us there, and for refreshments downstairs after the program!
All shops in Essex will be open both weekends. And don’t forget ReNew, sponsored by all churches in the Willsboro/Essex/Reber area. There will be lovely new things on display, along with Christmas items for sale. Please remember that all sales at ReNew help many from our local area in need…and winter is on the way!
Note that due to chorale rehearsal and program, our bazaar will be for the first weekend only. We know that you will enjoy visiting the many other shops in town at that time, and you can obtain refreshments or lunch at the Pink Pig or the Essex Ice Cream Café. Please visit christmasinessex.com for further information regarding events on that second weekend.
Order Balsam Wreaths
Finally, Essex United Methodist Women are again selling balsam wreaths, which will be available on Tuesday, December 2nd, but only by previous order. These are made locally and come with ribbon and pine cones, in various sizes.
If you would like to purchase a wreath, and would like more information regarding size or price, please contact Karen East at 524-8741 or Norma Goff at 963-4083.
Profits from sales of the wreaths and all items from the bazaar and luncheon are used for various local and other missions, a part of which supports our church. We appreciate your support, your patronage, and hope you can be with us for the concert on the 12th, and for the Dec. 6th Church bazaar, and we thank you in advance!
